A little bit of BVI lore: The locale of Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island is reputed to be Norman Island. An uninhabited island lying closer to St John than to any of the British islands, it probably hasn't changed much since his time. There is some good diving in the area, especially in the place called The Indians - 4 jagged pinnacles that protrude from the water after rising 50 feet from the ocean's floor. The resulting canyons and grottoes should entrance any diving enthusiast.
