The Virgin Islands Water & Power Authority published a "latest date" schedule for the 3 islands receiving power:

St. Croix:

Between October 14 & December 2 at the very latest for certain outlying areas.

St. John:

Between October 14 & October 28 at the very latest.

St. Thomas:

Between October 14, 1995 and January 14, 1996 for the main

island and by January 21 for Water & Hassel Islands.

VITELCO the local telephone company is moving a bit faster restoring service on all three islands.

Most hotels, guest houses and private rental homes have or have ordered generators to be able to operate.

Quite a number of new retail stores are planning to open over the next month in Fredereiksted due to the increase in cruise ships visiting the port. The cruise dock is located in this traditionally historical, charming town.
