Dive Sites in the United States Virgin Islands

The following is a sample of some of our most popular dive sites. Dive sites are usually chosen daily–dependent on weather and sea conditions. Typically, VI dive operators each have their own “favorite” sites. Call a few and ask for more details.

Sites in St. Croix:

Rosaomaira
Sitting in 60 to 110 feet of sparkling Caribbean water, this 177 ft wreck is a photographers paradise.

Cane Bay Drop-off
An incredible beach that fades into a dramatic drop-off covered by coral and visited by eagle rays, this intermediate to advanced dive ranges between 40 and 130 ft

Sites in St. Thomas:

Witshoal
Considered by some to be the VI’s premier wreck dive, the 400 ft West Indies Trader sits at 110 ft and is home to corals, sponges, grouper, and sharks.

Cow and Calf
A beautiful dive between 20 and 40 ft, this novice to intermediate dive leads you through a maze of swim throughs, tunnels, and overhangs. Great visibility and abundant marine life are sure to please.

Sites in St. John:

Carval Rock
A rest area for big pelagics, this advanced dive in 20 to 80 ft of open water is often tricky due to strong currents, but is just the ticket for divers seeking drama.

Eagle Shoals
Named for the eagle rays who prowl here, this 40 to 60 ft dive is noted for it’s healthy coral and facinating caves, ledges, and swim through. Check out Coral Divers who dive here often.
