Eel Grass

There is endangered grass growing in Honeymoon Bay and steps must be taken to discourage the boat traffic that could harm the grasses.

The south shore beaches are sites where nesting turtles lay eggs.  For the preservation of the species, there are no lights on that side of the island and some of the areas are set aside as preserves for the turtles.
